Electrical and start-up works at the construction of the 16 000 ton capacity mechanized ground-level storage located in the area of the Port elevator in Kherson.

To provide the electric power supply of the ground-level storage.
To assemble, install and commission the control system of the ground-level storage handling transporting line with integration into the operative grain elevator control system.
To install and connect the grain leveling automated system.
To develop design solution for connecting the grain leveling automated system (the “Robot”).
To perform all works within tight schedule.

16 000 ton capacity ground-level storage.
The ground-level storage handling transporting line includes 2 bucket lines, 5 chain transporters, 2 belt conveyer transporters, 90 storage discharging latches, 5 mode grain leveler, reversing valves, aeration and aspiration fans, rotary valves.
The grain leveling automated system (the “Robot”) is a packaged device with a robotized conveyer screw, loading trolley, and belt transporter.
- assembly and installation of 0,4 kV distribution point (DP) with lighting and ventilation;
- assembly and installation of the latches’ manual control distribution switchgear of the storage lower gallery;
- cable laying for the electric power supply of the distribution point;
- connection and automation of the executive mechanisms of the grain elevator equipment;
- lighting works in the lower gallery, internal and external lighting of the storage area;
- removing and connection of the operative switchgears into the distribution point with integration into the installed control system;
- electrical works on grounding contour of the storage area and distribution point with issuing of the measurement protocols and passports;
- integration of the operative handling routes into the integrated storage area control system with writing of the screen forms based on SCADA software product from Schneider Electric.
Design and delivery of the space-effective distribution point.
Removal and electric installation of the latches’ manual control distribution switchgear to the storage lower gallery to save cabling and wiring costs.
Development and realization of the new solution on installation and connection of the current leads to the conveyer trolley.
Development and realization of the new solution on installation and connection of the cable laying machine.
Development and realization of the temporary electric power supply of the technological equipment to provide the grain elevator’s uninterrupted operation.
The distribution point includes: the reactive power compensator, the switchboard for commercial accounting of power consumption, the input switchgear, the latches’ manual control distribution switchgear (90 storage discharging latches), the latches’ and conveyer transporter manual control distribution switchgear, the Robot control board.
Installation of 10 switchgears in the storage lower gallery in close vicinity of the latches’ electric drives. Initially these switchgears have been arranged in the module building.
Our implemented technical solution has saved kilometers of cable, simplified cable laying and maintenance of the latches’ electric drives.
The initial design solution suggested penetration and underground cable laying, which would have stopped the port operation for a few days. Our implemented solution was to lay cable in cable trays along overhead passing. This solution has considerably saved costs and installation time, and also reduced the number of permissions required for the works.
Development of the parts missed in the Robot design documentation: the circuit diagram, mounting configuration of the cable layer and current leads.
- writing program for the handling automated control system;
- development of the operator’s machine interface for monitoring and control of the routes and status of the storage;
- integration of the Robot control system into the storage area control system with the option for the remote control and monitoring of the Robot status.
Uninterruptible electric power supply for the technological equipment of the grain storage handling process has been provided.
The implemented grain storage integrated control system will allow shortening the grain handling operation time.
The design documentation and design solutions have been revised during construction works; the design documentation has been developed in full conformity with the performed scope of work.
- reduce the construction costs at the expense of the cable costs savings by 0,8 million UAH;
- shorten the construction time due to installation of the space-effective distribution point and reduction of cable laying electric installation works.
